The Timberwolves and Nuggets are battling for the NBA's Western Conference regular-season title and meet in a marquee matchup on Wednesday in Denver.
The last time the teams met on March 29 the Timberwolves played without Karl-Anthony Towns and Denver was missing point guard Jamal Murray. Minnesota emerged with a 111-98 victory.
When the Nuggets beat the Timberwolves 115-112 in Minneapolis on March 19, Minnesota played without Rudy Gobert and Towns.
The Timberwolves also won 110-89 on Nov. 1, so Denver will looking for a split in the regular-season series on Wednesday. The game could also serve as a playoff preview.
The defending champion Nuggets are led by Nikola Jokić, who leads the team in scoring rebounds and assists. Denver might have to win its final three games to retain home-court advantage until the NBA Finals.
Anthony Edwards leads Minnesota in scoring with 26 points per game, and Rudy Gobert averages almost 13 rebounds.
Oklahoma City is also pushing for that top spot in the conference and the No. 1 team might not be decided until the regular-season finale.
The NBA play-in tournament is slated from April 16-19. The rest of the playoffs begin on April 20
