The U.S. women's basketball team is heading to Paris in the hopes of continuing one of the greatest winning streaks in sports history. The Americans have their sights set on an eighth consecutive gold medal.
Diana Taurasi is chasing her sixth gold medal, while 2023 WNBA MVP Breanna Stewart and two-time WNBA MVP A'ja Wilson also headline the team. Sabrina Ionescu, Kahleah Copper and Alyssa Thomas will all compete as first-time Olympians.
The Americans' first test came during the WNBA All-Star break when they lost to the WNBA All-Stars, 117-109. They shook off that loss and dominated Germany in an exhibition matchup, winning by a final score of 84-57 in London.

Team USA is one of 12 teams to qualify for the Paris Olympics. It will be playing in Group C. Its group-play opponents will be Belgium, Germany and Japan.
