The U.S. women's basketball team is in London for its lone international exhibition matchup against Germany before it travels to Paris for the 2024 Olympics.

Team USA's first test came during the WNBA All-Star break, and the All-Stars handed the Americans a 117-109 loss on Saturday night. Breanna Stewart and A'ja Wilson combined for 53 points and 16 rebounds, while Diana Taurasi finished with 14 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Team USA was in a similar position ahead of the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 when it also lost to the WNBA All-Stars. The Americans cruised to a gold medal in Tokyo, so they aren't ringing any alarm bells after the loss.

"We have work to do," Team USA coach Cheryl Reeve said. "And we know that. Sometimes you need adversity, but I don't think we needed a game like this to get our attention. We know how hard it is what we are trying to do."

Team USA will next face Germany, a squad that is also in its Olympic group, meaning the Americans and Germans will meet again at the Summer Games.
