There were questions about how Angel Reese would transition from college basketball to the WNBA. Despite a championship ring and SEC Player of the Year award, seamlessly going from the NCAA to the pros is no easy task.
For Reese, it is.
Taken No. 7 in the Draft, the rookie has thrived in the W, averaging a double-double through 15 games this season and setting a league rookie record in that category with eight straight. There's no slowing down the Chi-Town Barbie.
The Sky hit a midseason slump, losing four straight before getting a win over the Wings. With a tough schedule ahead, including games against Las Vegas, Seattle, and New York, the Sky knew their third matchup of the season against the Fever would matter in more ways than one. A victory would be a statement — the momentum they needed to head into the final weeks before the Olympic break.
Reese didn't take no for an answer, putting up the best game of her short but sweet WNBA career. Here's a look at her stats from the Chicago-Indiana game.

Angel Reese stats vs. Fever game
Down 15 in the third quarter, the Sky came back to beat the Fever 88-87 on home turf.
Reese led the charge with a career-high 25 points and 16 rebounds while shooting 8-of-12 from the field. She's the first rookie to post those numbers since 2018's A'ja Wilson. She also joins the reigning Finals MVP as the only players to put up 15-plus points and 15-plus rebounds in multiple games this year. She added an assist and nine free throws on 11 attempts.
Many of Reese's points came in clutch time. She helped the Sky end the third quarter on a 7-0 run, scoring the final five of those points to cut Indiana's lead to eight at the switch.
In the final frame of the comeback, the rookie put up 10 points, including the tying and go-ahead shots.
It's safe to say Reese is putting up a Rookie of the Year statement, even against tough competition like Caitlin Clark.
