Grand Slam tennis is back in 2024, and gets underway in mid-January with the Australian Open from Melbourne Park. Defending champions Novak Djokovic and Aryna Sabalenka are both out to retain their titles won this time last year, but there's plenty of competition arriving down under from all corners of the globe.

World number two Aryna Sabalenka won her first career grand slam at Melbourne Park last January, and will do all she can to defend it in a fiercely competitive women's singles tournament. 22-year-old French Open champion Iga Swiatek is the favourite, and fellow major winners Coco Gauff and Marketa Vondrousova will also fancy their chances of taking home the title.
