After winning the Champions League final, Manchester City's Erling Haaland finished the 2023 campaign with 52 goals to his name across all competitions.

He's already smashed the record for goals scored by a player in a single Premier League season whilst he remains the only player to have scored 10+ goals in European football's premier competition.

Robert Lewandowski — 55 goals (2019/20)

Robert Lewandowski takes the title for most goals scored across all competitions in a single season since 2018/19 as he scored 55 times for Bayern Munich back in 2019/20.

That season the Polish international forward helped his side to claim the Bundesliga crown as well as the Champions League trophy as they won 1-0 vs PSG at the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon.

Both Haaland and Lewandowski still trailed Lionel Messi by a long way though,  who somehow managed to hit 73 goals for Barcelona during the 2011/12 season!

Shot conversion rate across all competitions

Erling Haaland — 29.14% conversion rate (2022/23)

For this statistic we're looking at players who managed to score 20+ goals across all competitions in a single season.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given his goalscoring form this season so far, Haaland ranks 1st across Europe's top five league for shot conversion rate.

His figure of 29.31% is substantially higher than all other players this campaign, though it's not the best across the past five seasons.

That's because Haaland himself managed to record a stunning shot conversion rate of 41.82% back during the 2019/20 season.

That campaign saw him swap RB Salzburg for Dortmund during the January transfer window with his conversion rate no doubt aided by the Norwegian international's 23 minute hat-trick on his Bundesliga debut for the German club!

Goals per minute rate across all competitions

For this statistic we're looking at players who managed to score 15+ goals across all competitions in a single season.

Again, it'll come as no surprise that Haaland also topped the list this season for the best goals per minute average across Europe's top five leagues.

His remarkable goalscoring saw him average a strike per 75.33 of action with PSG's Kylian Mbappe finishing second in this stat by a long distance (96.47 min/goal).

Robert Lewandowski — 64.72 goals/min (2020/21)

That said, Lewandowski holds the best goals per minute average over the past five seasons from his time at Bayern Munich.

That's because back in the 2020/21 season, the Polish international was smashing in a goal every 64.72 minutes across all competitions with the German club.

Expected goals across all competitions

Erling Haaland — 41.72xG (2022/23)

This season, Haaland led the way for most xG generated across his competitive club appearances.

He's returned 52 goals from 41.72 xG though he failed to add to that further during the 2023 Champions League final.

His expected goals tally is substantially more than Mbappe's who sits second on the list with 29.91xG.

Robert Lewandowski — 43.81xG (2021/22)

Not to be outdone again though by Haaland, Lewandowski actually racked up a bigger xG performance last campaign with Bayern Munich.

The now Barcelona star had chances worth 43.81xG, returning 50 goals in the process.
