Barcelona made it six wins out of six when they romped to a 5-1 win at Villarreal last weekend, Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha each bagging braces.

But the win came at a cost as Marc-Andre ter Stegen suffered a ruptured patella tendon. Barca confirmed the Germany goalkeeper will undergo surgery and he is likely to spend a long spell on the sidelines.

It adds to a weighty injury list for head coach Hansi Flick, something that has been easy to overlook given the Blaugrana's scintillating form on the field.

By contrast, Getafe are winless this season and third bottom of the table. Jose Bordalas' men remain typically robust foes, however, having drawn four of their top-flight matches this term.

Long-time No. 2 goalkeeper Inaki Pena will step in between the posts, with Flick giving him his backing at the pre-match news conference. Barca have 30 days from Ter Stegen's injury to make an emergency goalkeeper signing, otherwise wait until January. At least for now, the shirt is Pena's.

Gavi is close to returning from his ACL tear, but will need to be eased back in once ready. Dani Olmo, Ronald AraujoFrenkie de JongAndreas Christensen, and Fermin Lopez are all out with various injuries but forward Ferran Torres is back from a one-game suspension.

Barcelona predicted XI (4-3-3, right to left): Pena (GK) — Kounde, Cubarsi, Martinez, Balde — Pedri, Casado, Torre — Lamine Yamal, Lewandowski, Raphinha

Injured: Ter Stegen, Olmo, Araujo, De Jong, Christensen, Fermin Lopez, Gavi

Getafe defensive midfielder Nabil Aberdin has missed the past three games with an undisclosed injury and remains a doubt alongside former Real Madrid forward Alvaro Rodriguez.

Another ex-Madridista Borja Mayoral came off the bench to net the equaliser from the penalty spot in Sunday's 1-1 derby draw with Leganes. The striker is in line to make his first start since returning from meniscus surgery.

Getafe predicted XI (5-4-1, right to left): Soria (GK) — Iglesias, Djene, Berrocal, Alderete, Rico — Perez, Uche, Milla, Sola — Mayoral
