A clash of titans awaits as Manchester City take on title rivals Arsenal in their next Premier League game on Sunday.

Manchester City were left to rue missing crucial chances as they were held to a goalless draw by reigning Serie A Champions Inter Milan in the Champions League in their last fixture.

Similarly, Arsenal were also held to a goalless draw by Atalanta in the Champions League in their last match, with goalkeeper David Raya's heroics preventing a loss for the Gunners.

Man City vs. Arsenal lineups, team news

Kevin De Bruyne was replaced at halftime against Inter Milan in midweek following a collision with visiting goalkeeper Yann Sommer. Pep Guardiola has not ruled the Belgian out but he remains a major doubt to face a club he has eight goals and four assists against in 14 Premier League matches. Ilkay Gundogan or Mateo Kovacic are the most likely replacements.

Phil Foden came on at the interval versus the Nerazzurri following illness and is set to make his first start of the season.

Man City predicted XI (3-2-4-1, right to left): Ederson (GK) — Akanji, Dias, Gvardiol — Lewis, Rodri — Silva, Foden, Gundogan, Grealish — Haaland.

Injured: Bobb (broken leg), De Bruyne (doubt)
Suspended: None

Declan Rice returned to the Arsenal line-up against Atalanta following his domestic suspension and will line up in a midfield still without ankle-injury victim Martin Odegaard.

Gabriel Jesus started as captain in Odegaard's absence in Bergamo but the Brazilian struggled before making way with an hour played. Leandro Trossard might get the nod in the centre of the attack, playing a more fluid role as Kai Havertz drops into midfield once more.

Arsenal predicted XI (4-3-3, right to left): Raya (GK) — White, Saliba, Gabriel, Timber — Havertz, Partey, Rice — Saka, Trossard, Martinelli.

Injured: Merino (shoulder), Odegaard (ankle), Tierney (hamstring), Tomiyasu (knee), Zinchenko (calf)
Suspended: None

Man City vs. Arsenal Prediction

Manchester City come into this game with the psychological advantage, as they are unbeaten against Arsenal in the previous nine games (won seven and drawn two) played at home.

While Arsenal have had a strong start to the season and can match City's intensity, Guardiola's side has been relentless so far this season and could come out the victors in a closely-fought contest.

  • Prediction: Manchester City 2-1 Arsenal
