West Ham are reportedly considering a shock sale before the Premier League transfer window closes on August 30 with James Ward-Prowse linked with an exit.

The Hammers are reportedly open to letting the 29-year-old leave the London Stadium in the coming days as they pursue a move for Paris Saint-Germain's Carlos Soler.

New boss Julen Lopetegui omitted Ward-Prowse from the starting lineup in their opening two games of the EPL season and his future looks increasingly uncertain.

Summer signing Guido Rodriguez has partnered Tomas Soucek in the Hammers engine room with the latter on target in their 2-0 win at Crystal Palace last weekend.

Ward-Prowse was a first-choice pick under David Moyes in his debut West Ham campaign in 2023/24 after joining the club following 11 top-flight seasons at Southampton.

His seven league goals played a key role in West Ham's ninth-place finish as his EPL free-kick goal tally edged up to 17, one behind record holder David Beckham.

As per the latest from Teamtalk.com, Lopetegui his outlined his plan to go for different midfield options, and Ward-Prowse faces a call on his next step.

If the England international pushes for a move before the transfer deadline, he is expected to receive a flood of EPL offers as an experienced assist-king in the top tier.
