How to watch Scripps National Spelling Bee: Full TV schedule, channels, free live streams for 2024 competition

The country's most anticipated academic competition is down to the final eight as some of the smartest students from across America meet in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Last year, Florida native Dev Shah came out on top, winning on the word "psammophile." He made it through words such as "aegagrus," "rommack," and "tolsester" on his way to the title, outlasting runner-up Charlotte Walsh, who bowed out on the word "daviely."

This year's spellers range in age from 8 to 15, and 65 spellers have previously competed. Competition will be fierce at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.

What channel is the Spelling Bee on?

For the third year in a row, the Scripps National Spelling Bee will be broadcast live on Ion TV for semifinals and finals coverage on Wednesday, May 29 and Thursday, May 30. They will both air in prime time from 8-10 p.m. ET.
