The Western Conference Final begins on Thursday night, with puck drop between the Stars and Oilers slated for 8:30 p.m. ET.

Dallas, the leading point-getter in the Western Conference during the regular-season, has home ice for the series. But the Stars have been strangely mortal in their home arena throughout the playoffs, losing four of seven at the American Airlines Center.

The Stars enter Game 1 with the benefit of an extended reprieve; they last played on Friday, when they eliminated the Avalanche in a dramatic, 2-1 double overtime victory.

Edmonton, on the other hand, punched its ticket to the Western Conference Final with a stirring series comeback against the Canucks. Facing a 3-2 series deficit, the Oilers won Games 6 and 7, earning a trip to the conference finals for the second time in three years.

The teams met three times in the regular season. Dallas won twice, with Edmonton's win occurring in overtime.
