Packers fans faced a major scare in Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season.
Star QB Jordan Love, who led Green Bay to the playoffs in 2023 and had 32 touchdowns compared to just 11 interceptions in the 2023 regular season, went down with an injury toward the end of the season opener vs. the Eagles.
Depite major concern for Love's long-term outlook as he limped to the sidelines, reports on the extent of his injury calmed the worst of the Packers' fears. He is expected to return this season but is still anticipated to miss at least a few weeks.
When Green Bay listed Love as questionable Friday for its Week 2 game vs. the Colts, then, NFL fans were understandably confused.
Here's what to know about Love's injury, the reported timetable for his return and his status for Week 2 vs. Indianapolis.

What is Jordan Love's injury?
Love sustained a sprained MCL — a knee injury — at the end of Week 1 vs. Philadelphia.
The Packers wound up losing the season-opening game against the Eagles, 34-29, but Love played almost all of the total QB snaps, with his injury occurring late in the fourth quarter.
Love did not practice this week. While the 25-year-old avoided a long-term knee injury like an ACL tear, his reported timetable to return from the sprained MCL was still estimated around multiple weeks.

Will Jordan Love play in Week 2?
Love was considered questionable for Week 2 by the Packers, but will not play against the Colts. The team listed Love inactive on its final injury report, which came out 90 minutes before game time.
Love is reportedly aiming to return to action in Week 5, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
On Saturday, Green Bay updated that tag by downgrading Love to doubtful, per The Athletic's Matt Schneidman.
Throughout the week, Packers head coach Matt LeFleur hasn't been willing to rule his starting quarterback out of the matchup
"He's doing good," LaFleur said, per NFL.com. "He's got a great attitude and is working hard and getting better every day."
Despite that, The Athletic's Diana Russini recently reported that Love would not play in Week 2, as he hasn't been medically cleared to do so. That turned out to be the case Sunday.
In the report, Russini also said that Love returning in Week 3 is considered a "long shot," but if he recovers well, he could be back in Week 4. Given Rapoport's report Sunday, Week 4 or Week 5 is the likeliest timetable for Love's return. That timetable would give Green Bay a few weeks with Malik Willis as its starting QB in the meantime.
