Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is a happy man who has been spotted smiling from ear to ear at training camp after receiving his contract extension. At his first press conference since the news was broken, Tua cited "several birdies" sources in the building who gave him background information about what prompted the contract to finally get done on Friday.
Tua said that his head coach Mike McDaniel "went to bat" for him to get the deal. He did not reveal specifically what McDaniel said on his behalf.
Having his head coach's confidence so much so that McDaniel had his back with Dolphins owner Stephen Ross means a lot to Tagovailoa who will likely never forget McDaniel's actions and will play even harder for him, as a result.
