Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is known for a lot of different things. Some are obvious, like his football excellence or his relationship with Taylor Swift, a storyline that has taken the NFL by storm since the pair originally started dating.

Some are more obscure, like the nickname bestowed upon Kelce by his brother — and Eagles center — Jason Kelce.

Here's a look into what to know about Travis' nickname "Big Yeti."

Why does Jason Kelce call Travis Kelce 'Big Yeti'?

In addition to his football prowess, Kelce also shined on the basketball court. That's where he earned the nickname "Big Yeti."

"They did call you 'Big Yeti,' though," Jason said on the New Heights podcast hosted by the Kelce brothers.

"You guys haven't seen the Yeti come out of here," Travis responded. "You don't want to see the Yeti come out."

"When Trav was at Cincinnati, he would play basketball in the playground quite a bit," Jason said. "And anyone who has ever played pickup basketball, you know there's shirts and skins."

"Shirts and skins, dog, that's the only way to separate the teams," Travis responded. "I had the big beard, I had the long hair. I had the chest hair, back hair, arm hair, leg hair. It's just a big ole Yeti out there, man. All the homies on the court were calling me 'Big Yeti.'"

The nickname came back up in a big way in the team's meeting against the Bills where Jason Kelce was seen in Buffalo wearing a t-shirt that had the name written across it.

The shirt also had a cartoon yeti dunking a football pictured on it.

The "Big Yeti" will take the field once more on Sunday as the Chiefs look to knock off the 49ers in Super Bowl 58.
