Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce's podcast could truly reach new heights this year.
Amazon is interested in adding the brothers' "New Heights" show to their podcast platform, Wondery, according to The New York Post. While no deal has been finalized and spokespeople for both sides declined to comment, Bloomberg reported in April that the deal could reach "eight figures." The show is currently a part of Wave Sports + Entertainment. Jason Bateman's "SmartLess" podcast recently left Wondery for a $100 million deal with SiriusXM's podcast network.
This wouldn't be the Kelce family's first connection to Amazon. Prime Video released a documentary on Jason Kelce in 2023, who later retired from the NFL after 13 seasons with the Eagles. The documentary has since been nominated for two Sports Emmy Awards
The Kelce brothers have been a hot media commodity recently. Their podcast launched in 2022, but the brothers have since landed huge deals outside of football. The high-profile relationship between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift could have something to do with it as well.
Travis will host an "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" spinoff series and landed a role in Ryan Murphy's new TV series "Grotesquerie." Jason, meanwhile, will join ESPN's "Monday Night Countdown" during the 2024 season.
While Jason is headed for the television studio, Travis will remain on the field. He signed a new deal to become the highest-paid tight end in the NFL and remain with the Chiefs. That should shake off the retirement rumors that have swirled recently.
