Terrelle Pryor charged with assault, reportedly in stable condition after being stabbed

NFL free agent wide receiver Terrelle Pryor was arrested Saturday afternoon and charged with assault after an incident at his apartment Friday night, according to Pittsburgh's KDKA News.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported earlier Saturday that Pryor was in critical condition after being stabbed at his home in the Heinz Lofts apartment complex in Pittsburgh. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Pryor has since been upgraded to stable condition.

The initial report by Pittsburgh's WTAE-TV said that a woman was in police custody after the incident and had also sustained injuries. Pryor was reportedly stabbed in the chest and shoulder.

KDKA reported that Pryor received a simple assault charge, while Shalaya Briston was charged with criminal attempt homicide and aggravated assault. 

Pryor was drafted by the Raiders in the third round of the 2011 NFL Supplemental Draft following a successful collegiate career at Ohio State. He spent three seasons with the Buckeyes, throwing for 57 touchdowns and 6,177 yards. 

Pryor has since bounced around the NFL, appearing in games with the Raiders, Browns, Redskins, Bills and Jets. He hasn't played this season after being released by the Jaguars in September.
