Pittsburgh Steelers punter Cam Johnston is well aware of his celebrity lookalike, thanks in large part to the memes of him that have been made over the past few seasons.
Johnston, with sharp features and a red bit of scruff on his chin, looks very similar to stand-up comedian Bill Burr.
Speaking with USA Today’s Jarrett Bailey, Johnston confirmed that yes he has seen the memes, and yes he sees the resemblance.
“Yeah, the last few years, the fans over the fence on road games, they let me know about it every game,” Johnston said. “It’s been funny.”
Fans have made memes of the two for several years now.
Burr is also aware of the his NFL twin, having been informed of Bailey’s similar look while appearing on the Manning Cast of “Monday Night Football” two years ago while Johnston was playing for the Houston Texans.
Johnston began his career with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017. He spent four seasons in Philadelphia, followed by three with the Texans, before agreeing to a three-year, $9 million deal with the Steelers in March of 2024.
Johnston averaged a net of 44 yards per punt last season, good for fifth in the NFL.
