Sports Info Solutions projects the Rams slightly over their win total

In their latest project, the analytics company Sports Info Solutions (SIS) created a projected wins model for all 32 teams, and the company has the Los Angeles Rams exceeding their Vegas win totals (albeit pretty narrowly). DraftKings has the Rams win total set at an O/U of 8.5. SIS's model has them hitting 9 wins for the 2024 season.

SIS's model uses over 18 features and weights and runs over a thousand simulators of every team's season, a pretty impressive feat and a useful tool to have at their disposal.

The Rams projected nine wins put them 16th in terms of projected win totals across the league, and eighth in the NFC. (Surprisingly behind the Chicago Bears.)

Interestingly enough, their projected nine wins total is second in the NFC West and just narrowly behind the San Francisco 49ers, whose projected total was just 9.8.

This feels pretty fair for the team, given the amount of unknowns about the roster as a whole. The team finished 10-7 last season, and I'd say the retirement of Aaron Donald setting them back a win is fair and justifiable. The Rams also have one of the toughest schedules in the NFL for 2024, another roadblock to them topping their win total from last season.

They are relying on plenty of talented, but unproven youth on both sides of the ball. Hopefully, the Matthew Stafford to Cooper Kupp/Puka Nacua connection can keep the team in contention. As it stands, the Rams feel once again like wild card underdogs entering the season. Knowing Sean McVay and this team, that's exactly where they want people to feel like they are.
