Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is reportedly not planning to retire from the NFL.

In the wake of his Thursday night concussion in the Week 2 game against the Buffalo Bills, the third of his NFL career (the other two sustained in 2022), some NFL analysts thought he should and would call it a career.

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel discouraged the retirement talk on Friday, pleading with people to allow Tua to make his own career decision.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is hearing from his sources that the initial decision by Tua appears to NOT include an immediate retirement from the game.  Tua is instead seeing a concussion specialist.

If the concussion specialist would advise retirement, it is not clear how Tua would receive or act upon that news.  Rapoport said that after his previous concussions, he had no intention of retiring.

There is no timeline for his return, and the Dolphins are not making any hurried decisions beyond naming Skylar Thompson the QB1 in the interim for the Dolphins Week 3 game against the Seattle Seahawks.
