Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is already feeling the effects of playing at a lighter weight this year.

Jackson, of course, enters this season noticeably slimmer. He has said he's down 25 lb from two years ago.

The weight loss already appears to be paying off. While speaking to reporters on Monday, Jackson said he's having an easier time catching his breath during scrimmages.

"I got a lot more energy," Jackson said. "I'm not fatigued as much if I'm running, like, 30 yards down the field. I can come back just be like me. I'm like a robot, even though I'm not a robot ... I feel a lot better."

Jackson has said he wanted to be quicker and more agile this year. He had previously added muscle weight to better absorb hits, but it seems as if he also felt heavier while running.

Now, Jackson seems invigorated by his lighter frame. Jackson had previously said that he thought he looked fat when looking at pictures of himself from two years ago.

It remains to be seen if the weight loss will change Jackson's play on the field — he has a high bar to hit, as the league's reigning MVP.
