The Philadelphia Eagles have added a bit more veteran depth to their wide receiving corps heading into the 2024 season.

On Thursday, the team announced that it had signed John Ross to a one-year deal.

The move comes just days after the retirement of DeVante Parker, whom the Eagles had yet to play a snap for the franchise after signing in the offseason.

Ross hasn’t seen an NFL field since playing for the New York Giants in 2021, but spent a small portion of the 2023 offseason signed on a reserve deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, before eventually announcing his retirement last summer.

Now, it appears that Ross is open to going back on that retirement, at least for the time being.

Ross’ best NFL season came in 2019 with the Cincinnati Bengals, when he finished with 28 receptions over the course of eight games for 506 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
