Now that rookie minicamp is in the rearview, the New England Patriots, like the other 31 teams around the league, are turning their attention toward organized team activities.
For the Patriots, those activities start on Monday, as the team will work out on the fields in the shadows of Gillette Stadium. However, there are a few key Patriots who won't be participating.
According to head coach Jerod Mayo, Matthew Judon, Kendrick Bourne and Cole Strange won't be taking part in Monday's OTA session.
Anfernee Jennings, Jahlani Tavai, Joshua Uche, Zuri Henry and Davon Godchaux were also not spotted by those in attendance at the voluntary session.
Bourne and Strange are both recovering from knee injuries that limited their participation during the 2023 season. Judon, on the other hand, has been in and out of the building during the early parts of the offseason program over the years.
This time of year is important to get players into the system and adjusted to different aspects of the game, but Bourne and Judon are veterans who have been in the league for a while, so they should be able to jump right back in with no issues.
Strange, however, is entering his third season and hasn't exactly played up to his first-round pick stock.
If the three aren't out there when training camp starts, that will be then there's really time for concern.
