Matt Moore did all he could, but it still wasn't enough for the short-handed Chiefs to upend the Packers on Sunday. Green Bay held on for a 31-24 victory at Arrowhead Stadium on "Sunday Night Football."

KC was in jeopardy of having the game unravel after it fell behind 14-0 in the first quarter. Moore responded by manufacturing consecutive scoring drives capped by lengthy passing touchdowns. He finished the night 24 of 36 for 267 yards with those two touchdowns as reigning NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes (knee) watched from the sideline.

From that point, both teams traded punches until the final whistle.

The Chiefs (5-3) went into halftime leading 17-14 after a third drive in a row produced points. Momentum had shifted in the direction of the home team and Moore had settled in after a shaky start. The Packers (7-1) and Aaron Rodgers weren't done, though.

VIDEO: Packers-Chiefs highlights

Rodgers (23-of-33 passing, 305 yards, three touchdowns) maintained his poise as the Chiefs' defense brought pressure all night (12 hits on No. 12).  Rodgers dropped a dazzling touchdown pass to Jamaal Williams to give Green Bay the lead in the fourth quarter, and he followed that with a quick screen to Aaron Jones on the next drive that went for a 67-yard score. That TD proved to be the game-winner.
