The Cleveland Browns rookies report to training camp on July 22, and the veterans follow on July 23. Though the 2024 NFL season is a long one officially beginning on July 23, one thing that could make or break the Browns' season could be evident as early as the first day of training camp.

What is that factor?  It comes down to who reports to camp ready and able to play.  Some of the Browns' biggest offensive weapons have question marks beside their names.  Deshaun Watson, Nick Chubb, and Nyheim Hines are recovering from long-term serious injuries.  Will they be able to participate in regular training camp activities, or are they headed to the physically unable to perform (PUP) list on Tuesday afternoon?

Then, there is the Amari Cooper situation.  Cooper held out from mandatory minicamp because he wanted a contract extension. Will he report to camp or continue his holdout?

Browns Coach Kevin Stefanski is all about the "next man up" mentality which might be necessary from Day 1.  Depending on what happens with these players this week, that mantra may be put into play earlier than Browns fans hoped.
