The Dallas Cowboys are entering a year of uncertainty. Although they locked down wide receiver CeeDee Lamb to a long term contract, they future of Dak Prescott with the franchise is very much in the air.

However, the ongoing drama and the quarterback-shaped elephant in the room aren't the biggest immediate issues for the Cowboys.

Diante Lee of The Ringer says Dallas' lack of depth will rear its ugly head very quickly for the Cowboys.

"Depth may become an issue," Lee said. "After missing out on drafting a running back this spring, Dallas is trotting out Ezekiel Elliott and Dalvin Cook as its top two backs, which would be awesome if it were 2019. Aside from Lamb, none of the receivers consistently get open enough to be big factors in the passing game."

Dallas' depth will be tested right away against the Cleveland Browns, who had one of the NFL's best defenses in 2023 and could end up taking advantage of the Cowboys' lack of consistent role players.
