The month of July hasn't been kind to the Minnesota Vikings cornerback room. They have lost two of their young and promising players for the 2024 season and it's hindered the room to a significant degree.

After tragically losing cornerback Khyree Jackson to a car accident at the beginning of May, Mekhi Blackmon tore his ACL during the first training camp practice of 2024. The Vikings needed to find a way to fortify the cornerback room and they did so on Thursday.

According to KPRC2 Houston's Aaron Wilson, the Vikings have signed cornerback Jacobi Francis, formerly of the Houston Texans.

Francis was a UDFA out of Memphis in 2022 and has played in five NFL games, all of which came in 2022. He made one tackle during those games.

Is this the last move that the Vikings will make in the cornerback room? Taking a chance on a player like Francis is a good move, but it's likely not the last. There are some intriguing veteran options available.
