Going into the 2024 season, the Minnesota Vikings are a fascinating team to watch, especially when it comes to the rookie class.

One of three teams with two first-round picks, the Vikings have seen good early returns from both quarterback J.J. McCarthy and edge rusher Dallas Turner. There is buzz surrounding both players as the Vikings approach their first training camp practice.

That buzz is being felt across the NFL media landscape and to extended to CBS Sports' Chris Trapasso who named Turner a member of the preseason all-rookie team.

Turner is barely 21-years-old, wins with magnificent explosiveness and bend around the corner and is only scratching the surface with his hand work. He'll be a weapon in Brian Flores' ultra-aggressive defense in 2024.

The idea of Turner in Flores' defense should excite everyone but the Vikings' opponents. Turner has been compared by multiple coaches to former Alabama and New England Patriots linebacker Dont'a Hightower due to his versatility, length and explosiveness.

Turner got the majority of his reps this offseason on the first team with Andrew Van Ginkel still nursing a Lisfranc foot injury. That experience will be invaluable to help Turner take a step forward as a rookie.
