It is Tyler Huntley time for the Miami Dolphins, says NFL analyst

Is it time for the Miami Dolphins to make yet another quarterback change?

Now 1-2, there is already some budding noise suggesting the team should at least give Tyler Huntley a shot and see what happens.

The idea comes in the wake of the chest injury suffered by Skylar Thomson during the team’s 24-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3, via Bleacher Report

“As is the case with those two, Huntley's skill set doesn't exactly mirror Tagovailoa's. However, it's hard to envision him being less effective than what the Dolphins had on Sunday.”

Going to Huntley, who sort of infamously made a Pro Bowl in 2022, yet was available for the Dolphins to pluck from Baltimore’s practice squad, is all about attempting to grab some upside.

Thompson, after all, completed 13 of his 19 attempts in Seattle for just 107 yards before exiting. Tim Boyle completed seven of his 13 for 79. The downgrade from Tua Tagovailoa, who remains a question mark for the remainder of the season, is apparent.

At least with Huntley, there’s some possibility of upside despite his not being as familiar with the offense as the other two names. But that shouldn’t be too much of an issue, considering the weight Mike McDaniel still carries as an offensive-minded coach.

In theory, at least. Rolling with a big change like this might be worth the risk, as the Dolphins are fading fast in an AFC East with an undefeated Buffalo team and Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets looking competitive. Even New England, also 1-2, has looked game and actually sports a better point differential than the Dolphins right now.
