Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray exited the "Monday Night Football" game vs. the Patriots after just three plays with an apparent knee injury.

The fourth-year signal-caller immediately fell to the turf at State Farm Stadium, sustaining a non-contact injury after a 3-yard scramble. He was immediately carted off the field and was visibly distressed, draping a towel over his head.

With Murray out, the Cardinals will turn to backup Colt McCoy, who took over for a two-game stint earlier in the year. Regardless of the team's quarterback options, Murray's injury sent shockwaves throughout the NFL world.

The two-time Pro Bowler, who signed a five-year, $230.5 million contract extension over the offseason — with $160 million guaranteed — elicited several sympathy and well-wishes as Cardinals fans and neutral observers watched him leave the game.
