For those that were wondering if Dallas Cowboys running back Deuce Vaughn was going to make the team, just listen to what Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones said about him.

"He is going to be very interesting for us," Jones said after the final preseason contest with San Diego.

Jones referred to Vaughn as "gadget juice and at non-gadget times."

In the first half against the Los Angeles Chargers, Vaughn rushed for 53 yards on nine carries. He did not participate in the second half. Apparently, the Cowboys saw all they wanted to see,

For Vaughn, who rushed for 87 yards in two preseason games, he is averaging a whopping 6.2 yards per carry.

In his first game against the Las Vegas Raiders, Vaughn led the Cowboys ground attack with 36 rushing yards. He averaged 6.8 yards per carry.

Not bad for a guy with a hamstring issue, who was not supposed to play in the game, He ran through defenders and broke every first tackle on each of his runs.

"It's been my first time battling adversity as far as a soft tissue injury," Vaughn said to DallasCowboys.com . "It was a way for myself to battle back from that, it was hard. It was very tough. I was able to pick myself back up, get healthy, be patient and come out here and play my brand of football."

Vaughn said he is prepared to do whatever is asked of him.

"I've always been a guy that whatever is asked of me from a program or organization, I'm gonna go and do," Vaughn said. "I'm gonna put my head down and go attack it with hard work. Whatever I have to do to give my team an opportunity to win, I am going to go out and do"

Right now, Vaughn is just trying to avoid the grim reaper.

"I feel like I've done everything I can do as far as the hard work and the preparation. Doing everything I can to put my best foot forward. It's in God's hands These next few days, I'll be with my family and be thankful."
