Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had a very long-winded press conference on Thursday.  One takeaway was that he likened himself to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.  He explained the analogy as such: he is as talented at negotiations as Mahomes is at football.

Jones went on to say just as Mahomes buys his time on the field, going through his progressions before making a play, that is what he and the Cowboys are doing amid contract turmoil with camp holdout CeeDee Lamb, Dak Prescott, and in the not-too-distant future Micah Parsons.

Jones probably can be compared to many people, but Patrick Mahomes would not be the one who would be top of mind.  The one thing Jones and Mahomes have in common is that both have three Super Bowl rings though Cowboys fans will admit that it is becoming harder and harder to recall the Super Bowl glory days of the 1990s as the Chiefs dominate the game today.
