Miami Dolphins star cornerback Jalen Ramsey rallied his teammates with an impassioned 10-minute speech this week at training camp after a scuffle.

For Ramsey and the Dolphins, the fight is fuel toward changing the narrative around a team and set of players that collapsed late in the season last year.

Kaushik Sampath of the Miami Herald provided context on Ramsey’s speech: "That’s why, after practice, Pro Bowl cornerback Jalen Ramsey gathered the team, giving an impassioned ten-minute speech about 'being the bully'”.

Sampath’s colleague, Omar Kelly, noted that part of Ramsey’s speech centered on “dropping the finesse” that has chased the team in recent years.

Despite the recent big-money extension for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, offensive issues have persisted for much of the early training camp practices. It was only the team’s second day in pads when the fight that spurred Ramsey’s speech broke out, so it’s clear team leaders want to use it as a rallying point–as opposed to it leading to more problems.

Should the Dolphins rally around this theme set by locker room leaders, then the fight could be a sort of launching pad for great things, which is clearly the backbone effort of Ramsey’s address.
