The biggest goal for each player in the NFL each season is to win the Super Bowl.

It's a feat few players accomplish over the course of their careers. And then there's Tom Brady, who bought home a whopping seven Super Bowl rings.

While every player hopes to win it all, some members of the Chiefs and 49ers may have already benefitted just by reaching the big game. Some players have contract incentives that pay out depending on how far they advance in the playoffs, and stand to gain quite a bit more money if they can win the Super Bowl.

So, just how much do these players make for appearing in the game, and how much can they cash in for winning it all? Here's a look into that.

How much do NFL players make for winning Super Bowl?

Super Bowl winners took home a bonus of $157,000 during the 2022 NFL season. That number rose by a total of $7,000 this season, bringing the total to $164,000 for members of the winning team this season.

That figure will continue to increase by $7,000 per season through 2030, when players will earn $228,000 with a Super Bowl win, per the CBA.

There are some stipulations, though. If a player has only been on the team's roster for fewer than three games ahead of the Super Bowl, they are only entitled to half of the amount.

Players who were injured during the regular season and placed on the inactive list will get either a quarter or half of the full bonus. That depends on a multitude of factors, including how many years they’ve been in the league and the status of their contract, among other things.

Players will receive their Super Bowl bonus within 15 days of the contest.

How much do NFL players make for losing Super Bowl?

Players who lose the Super Bowl still receive a bonus despite the disappointing result. Members of the roster of the team that doesn't walk away with the Lombardi Trophy will still earn an additional $89,000.

The league minimum for a player in the NFL is $705,000, so for those players making the least among their peers, there's an opportunity to earn over $950,000 throughout the course of the season.
