The Philadelphia Eagles will hit the road this Thursday to clash with the revamped underdogs New England Patriots as NFL Week 2 preseason action kicks off.
Jerod Mayo will be all set to attack the Eagles with his fresh strategies and new-looking lineup, yet only a dominating win might reignite the mere hopes of them appearing in the postseason.
Looking at the ground-level stuff, this would be the third time they will be resetting the QB position since Brady's departure in 2022. Their only hope out of it is their rookie talent, Drake Maye, showing some promise. Another goal of Mayo and Co. will be to fix their pass-rushing department.

Almost opposite to their offense, the Patriots' defense looks pretty solid with elite-level players like Kyle Dugger and CB Christian Gonzalez, with some Belichick strategies still in place. Their goal would be to land in the top 10 Defensive DVOA in the league this season as well, extending this streak to 4.
Looking at the other side, we have Nick Sirianni stepping into his 4th season at the Eagles. Sirianni and Co.'s relentless pursuit to further bolster their already playoff-caliber roster was evident throughout the off-season. Who's to blame, after all? The 2-point difference that shattered their Super Bowl 2023 dream is still a fresh wound.
The only way Sirianni and Co. could etch themselves as the best again would be by reaching the Super Bowl, the foundational stones for which would be these preseason clashes. With star players like Saquon Barkley handling the offense and players like Bryce Huff and safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson at the helm of their defense, the Eagles could hardly go wrong.
