The Miami Dolphins announced that they have agreed to terms with cornerback Jalen Ramsey for a historic contract extension.  Per Adam Schefter, Ramsey becomes the highest-paid cornerback for the second time in his career.  It is a three-year deal valued at $24.1 million annually.

Ramsey will turn 30 in October. He has been a Pro Bowler at each of his previous teams, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Los Angeles Rams.  Ramsey is beginning his second season in Miami.  He has 22 interceptions in his career which spans nine seasons.

He is dealing with a hamstring injury that has limited his participation at practice.  His status to play against his former team, the Jaguars, in Week 1 is uncertain.
