The Denver Broncos may not be completely satisfied with Riley Dixon as the team's punter. On Wednesday, the team came to terms on a deal with free-agent Trenton Gill who will come in to battle for the team's punting job this summer.

Gill was drafted in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears out of North Carolina State and spent the past two seasons in Chicago. After the Bears chose to use a fourth-round pick on Iowa's Tory Taylor in the most recent draft, they parted ways with Gill, giving him a chance to latch on somewhere else.

That is going to be Denver where Gill should have a good chance to come in and unseat Dixon for the spot. In two seasons, Gill played in every game for the Bears and punted the ball 133 times, averaging 46.1 yards per kick and placing 38 of those inside the 20-yard line.

The Broncos brought Nik Constantinou, a punter from Texas A&M as an undrafted free agent. They chose to release him following the team's rookie minicamp. Now, legit competition has been provided for Dixon.

In order to make room on the team's 90-man roster, the Broncos have released Cam Allen, an undrafted free agent out of Purdue who is a defensive back.
