The Dallas Cowboys have been a team living in the headlines throughout the course of the offseason, and not for the best reasons more often than not.

The ongoing saga regarding contract extensions for Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb have been the talk of the town in Dallas, both of which don’t seem to have respective ends in sight.

And while stress has been a popular emotion for Cowboys fans, they should also feel excitement for a rookie that is already looking like a major draft steal.

Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox labeled 10 rookies already looking like steals from the 2024 NFL Draft, and Cowboys linebacker Marist Liufau was given a nod.

“After ranking a middling 16th in run defense last season and then losing Leighton Vander Esch to retirement in the spring, the Dallas Cowboys needed to add linebacker help this offseason,” Knox wrote. “Liufau has impressed enough that he was listed as a starter alongside Kendricks on Dallas' first unofficial depth chart of the preseason… Off-ball linebackers went late in the 2024 draft, and Liufau was the fifth selected. If the Cowboys got themselves a regular rookie contributor in Round 3, though, that's still a steal.”

Liufau and the Cowboys will play their second preseason game in Las Vegas against the Raiders on Saturday.
