Some might say that 29-year-old Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin who celebrated his birthday last week finally got his birthday present.

No, it was not the touchdown catch thrown with pinpoint accuracy from his rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels in the Commanders' MNF win over the Cincinnati Bengals though that was sweet.

It is the hope and confidence that things are changing in Washington.  McLaurin was the third-round pick of the Washington Redskins in the 2019 NFL Draft.

McLaurin has endured three head coaches, one ownership change, and three name changes as he enters his sixth NFL season with the team.

Despite all the turbulence around him, McLaurin was always consistent. He has 1000 yards receiving in four of his five previous seasons.  The exception was his rookie year when he finished with 919 yards.

After last night's game, McLaurin gave Daniels a lot of respect saying that he grew up in that game.  McLaurin said that Daniels has been making that throw in training camp and practice.  To do it in his first MNF game on the road solidified the connection the pair has.

If this is what they do in Week 3, watching Washington Commanders football this season could be special.
