When the Kansas City Chiefs traded up to take Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy, it was clear that his speed was enticing to Andy Reid as his head was surely spinning on what he could do in the offense.

It became clear early on in training camp that Worthy was going to be a go-to target for Patrick Mahomes. The star quarterback hit Worthy on a deep ball in the end zone at the start of camp (over perfect coverage, one might add). Now in Week 2 of the preseason, Worthy made multiple plays in the deep passing game.

He caught a Mahomes pass near the sideline, extending to make the catch. He followed that up later on in the first quarter, faking out a defender by selling a crossing route and then speeding past him on a go ball for a touchdown.

If Worthy translates this to the regular season, the Chiefs may give their 2018 offense some cameo appearances throughout the season.
