The Kansas City Chiefs gave kicker Harrison Butker a massive new contract on Monday.

Butker signed a four-year, $25.6 million extension which includes $17.75 million guaranteed. The deal makes Butker the highest paid kicker in the history of the NFL.

And while some may scoff at the money given to Butker being that he's a kicker, he has proven to be worth his weight in gold when the Chiefs need him the most. Butker's career playoff stats do the talking for him in this case.

In his playoff career, Butker is 35-of-35 on field goals, including 6-of-7 from 50 or more yards.

With how productive No. 7 has been when the Chiefs have needed him the most, the money makes sense. Especially in today's NFL when finding a great kicker is getting increasingly more difficult and important.
