Kansas City will be looking to become the first NFL team in history to win three consecutive Super Bowl championships. Not surprisingly, the odds favor the defending champs, as BetMGM lists them as a +550 to pull off the three-peat.
Cincinnati, though, sits just a few spots back at +1400. The last time the Chiefs missed the Super Bowl, it was the Bengals who knocked them out to get there in 2022. Burrow and company are still looking to bring Cincy its first Super Bowl win in the 58-year history of the organization, though. Could this be the year?
One thing's for sure: these perennial powerhouses don't stand pat after the season ends — they stay grinding. PFF graded the 2024 offseasons of the Chiefs and Bengals an "A," adding that Kansas City lost some pieces but "came out on top" and that Cincinnati "remains a top team."
Those strong grades seem fair. The defending champs extended All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce and elite pass-rusher Chris Jones, and brought in Marquise "Hollywood" Brown as Patrick Mahomes' flashy new wideout. Cincy, meanwhile, was able to retain stud receiver Tee Higgins. Add a phenomenal draft for both franchises and it's hard to argue with the sentiment that these are the two teams to beat in the AFC.
