The Chicago Bears have been seeking help with their pass rush throughout the offseason, and it seems that rookie quarterback Caleb Williams knows where the Bears should look next.

Williams reposted and removed a post on X suggesting that Chicago general manager Ryan Poles take a run at Dallas Cowboys outside linebacker Micah Parsons. Parsons is heading into the final year of his rookie contract with the Cowboys and is due for a significant pay raise.

This spring, there were reports that Parsons would likely demand $30 million or more annually on his next deal. That seems to be the going rate for a pass rusher who has produced 40 ½ sacks and 131 quarterback pressures in 50 career games. Since the start of the 2021 season, only T.J. Watt (47.0), Myles Garrett (46.0), and Nick Bosa (44.5) have had more sacks than Parsons.

The Cowboys recently signed wide receiver CeeDee Lamb to a four-year, $136 million contract extension and still have to sign quarterback Dak Prescott, fueling speculation that Dallas might be unable to afford all three stars.

However, the Cowboys have picked up Parsons’ $21.32 million club option for the 2025 season and there is no indication that Jerry Jones is looking to move the two-time All-Pro defender.

That hasn’t stopped the speculation that a deal could get done.

Fansided’s John Buhler proposed a blockbuster of his own while acknowledging that any trade between Chicago and Dallas would be a long shot.

In his scenario, the Bears would receive Parsons while sending their first and second-round selections in 2025 and second and fourth-round picks in 2026.

“It could be exactly what both teams need,” Buhler wrote. “Dallas frees up some much-needed cap space down the line…Chicago would become a juggernaut.”
