The Cleveland Browns are dealing with the loss of the backup center Luke Wypler who broke his ankle during the preseason game against the Green Bay Packers.  Surgery is required for Wypler, and the timetable for return is unclear.

Because of this, Ari Meirov is reporting that the Browns made a Sunday evening trade to get Nick Harris back.  Harris was the Browns' backup center from 2020-2023 though he spent 2022 on injured reserve after sustaining a training camp injury.

Harris signed with the Seattle Seahawks in the offseason.  The Browns are giving the Seahawks a 2026 6th-round draft pick in exchange for Harris and a 2026 7th-round pick.

Harris appeared in 40 games with the Browns including all 17 games in 2023. He will back up starting center Ethan Pocic.  Harris is comfortable playing other offensive line positions and has lined up as a fullback.

When the Browns take the field in their second preseason game against Minnesota on August 17 at 4:25 PM ET, it could be Nick Harris under center and feeling almost as if he never left.
