With the Denver Broncos first game of the 2024 season slowly approaching, the question of who is going to be starting quarterback is becoming even more pressing. Head coach Sean Payton has a tough decision to make, but the performance of the Oregon phenom is making that decision even easier.

In Nix's preseason debut against the Colts, he went 15/21 for 125 yards and a touchdown in only five possessions. Such a performance turned the heads of some Broncos vets.

In an interview with Denver Sports' Andrew Mason, Broncos RT Mike McGlinchey had this to say about his rookie quarterback:

"He played his balls off out there, and I'm just proud of him and excited to see where he can go."

For a player whose main job is to protect the quarterback, it is very uplifting to see the type of high praise McGlinchey has for the person throwing the football. As for the veterans who will be catching Nix's passes, they had positive reactions as well.

"Same thing he's been doing in practice" said receiver Tim Patrick, per Andrew Mason, "Just making plays, taking charge of the huddle, and just being Bo Nix".

Receiver Courtland Sutton also chimed in on the performance of his rookie, saying this on the Broncos' official website:

"[He] had a lot of poise, a lot of control. The moment wasn't too big for him. The moments are only going to get bigger. The preseason games don't count, but come Week 1, whoever they decide to put out there as our starter, they're going to have to handle that situation the best they possibly can."

If Bo Nix resumes his high play and continues to receive approval for his leadership from seasoned veterans, it will only be a matter of time until he is named the starter for the Denver Broncos.
