The Chicago Bears currently are 1-2 through three weeks of action.
Chicago has shown some flashes but hasn't been able to put up consistent production yet. The Bears are loaded with talent but have been unlucky with injuries. If the Bears are able to fully get healthy soon, they could make some noise.
The Bears do have some holes that could use a boost on the roster. Defensive tackle is a spot that needs to be addressed by the Bears if they want to get back on track and make a run at a playoff spot this season. The 2024 National Football League trade deadline is a few months away, and speculation already has started to pick up about who could be moved.
ESPN's Dan Graziano called the Bears a possible landing spot for Denver Broncos defensive tackle D.J. Jones if he ends up getting moved.
"The former 49er signed a three-year, $30 million deal with Denver before the 2022 season, so he's in the final year of his contract, making $10 million," Graziano said. "Early returns indicate the Broncos could be in for a rough season, and Jones predates coach Sean Payton there, which could mean the writing is on the wall. Jones turns 30 in January, so he's not likely to be a candidate for a long-term extension with a new team, but he could help a contender as a half-season rental. Jones has six tackles and a QB hit through two games.
"Potential landing spot: Chicago Bears. Matt Eberflus' defense has played well to start the season, but his history tells us he doesn't believe you can be too deep on the defensive line. Other fits include the (San Francisco 49ers), (Philadelphia Eagles), (Dallas Cowboys), and Bengals."
He is an eight-year NFL veteran who has been a starter over the last six years. If the Bears want to add, he could make some sense.
