The Buffalo Bills didn't have a defensive performance to remember against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1. The Cardinals scored 28 points, including jumping out to a 17-3 lead after drives of 13, 10, and 13 plays to begin the game.

The Cardinals went 7-of-13 on third down against the Bills, and established long, draining drives to begin the game before Buffalo woke up in the second half and didn't allow an offensive touchdown by Arizona.

One of the biggest reasons why Buffalo had any sort of disruptiveness defensively in Week 1 was because of the cornerback tandem of Rasul Douglas and Christian Benford. Facing a Cardinals offense that a lot of people are excited about this season, the Bills' cornerbacks shut down electric rookie Marvin Harrison Jr, and took away anything deep for the Cardinals.

Overall, Douglas and Benford allowed a combined two catches for four yards in the season opener, per PFF. Should this duo consistently look like this throughout the season, especially against the high-flying attack of the Miami Dolphins within their division, teams will struggle to get any sort of splash plays against Buffalo.
