The San Francisco 49ers will have to make some tough decisions this upcoming offseason.

San Francisco hasn't had the success it has hoped for so far this season. The 49ers are 1-2 on the young campaign, and injuries are piling up. This doesn't mean that the 49ers won't make another deep playoff run this year, but things will be difficult until the team gets healthier.

Once the season ends, they will have to make tough decisions as the roster already is expensive, and they won't be able to keep the entire core together forever.

Because of this, Bleacher Report's scouting department predicted that star cornerback Charvarius Ward will end up leaving after the season and called the Las Vegas Raiders a possible landing spot.

"2025 Free Agency: (cornerback) Charvarius Ward, San Francisco 49ers," Bleacher Report said. "The Raiders felt fairly confident in Jack Jones after he finished last season on a tear. However, the secondary has been shaky through the first three weeks of the season, and adding talent at cornerback is likely to be a project that continues into 2025.

"Charvarius Ward has proved he can get the job done for two different Super Bowl contenders. Making a run at Ward in free agency would be a way to carry less stress about the position next season."

Ward has developed into a star as a member of the 49ers. He was a Pro Bowler in 2022 and also earned an All-Pro nod. He is an extremely important piece of the defense, and it would be tough if he were to leave. But it's too early to make a prediction of this nature.
