Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers turned heads with a 24-of-36 performance at defending national champion Michigan on Saturday, threading a handful of impressive passes in tight windows, often while creating space for himself. His first half performance was impressive enough that it practically put the game out of reach of the Wolverines, and critics and fans alike took note.

It was only in reviewing tape at a deeper level after the weekend that some fans noticed a peculiar detail from Texas' first touchdown: Immediately after releasing the football, Ewers turned in the other direction, either to litigate a decision with a line judge, or to bark at Michigan defensive tackle Kenneth Grant, who is essentially directly in Ewers' line of sight.

Whomever Ewers was addressing, he was the one who got the last laugh: while Ewers was barking, his tight end, Gunnar Helm, was pulling in a picture perfect touchdown pass.

That's about as impressive a play as you'll see at the collegiate level; perfectly schemed, even-better executed, and completed with a level of panache few could even dream of. For this Texas team, it's apparently just another clean red zone touchdown (well, technically 21-yarder, so just outside the red zone).
