The Texas A&M Aggies are building a powerhouse.

As high schools recruits around the country announce their commitments in early July, the Aggies landed another 4-star player in the class of 2025. This time, Mike Elko and his staff secured a commitment from EDGE Marco Jones.

On3 made the announcement of the commitment via X

A 4-star recruit out of Danville, California, Jones is a 6-foot-5, 240-pound EDGE. 247Sports has him as the 122nd-ranked player nationally, and the No. 11 recruit in the state of California.

Jones joins a long list of players out of the state of California to commit to Texas A&M. Despite Elko's East coast ties and the programs previous aversion to recruiting players out of the state, California has quickly become a legitimate pipeline state for the Aggies.

The Aggies continue to skyrocket up recruiting rankings for the 2025 season. On3 currently has Texas A&M sitting at No. 8 in the national recruiting rankings and fourth in the SEC. It's a significant step forward for a team that had the 17th-best recruiting class in 2024.

Elko and his staff may not be done, either. There are still a handful of 2025 recruits who have yet to announce where they're playing in college, including the likes of 4-star wide receiver Winston Watkins Jr., the cousin of former Clemson Tigers and NFL wide receiver Sammy Watkins. On3 currently projects Texas A&M as the favorite to land him.

The grind doesn't stop for Elko and the Aggies, with top recruiting classes like this one setting his team up for long-term success in an expanding SEC for years to come.
