Pac-12 referees are universally horrible. We should all know this by now, and as a native of the Pacific Northwest I have no problem admitting this fact. Frankly, I'm surprised it took the rest of the country this long to catch up.
Officials in a game between the Oregon State Beavers and Washington State Cougars took it to the next level on Saturday.
Let's break this down, shall we?
1. A Washington State player with the ball receives a block from a teammate. What a pal.
2. The Oregon State player who has been blocked does not have the ball.
3. Everyone falls down save for the guy holding the ball.
4. A Pac-12 referee blows his whistle. Probably just testing to see that it works.
5. Washington State has a free play to the end zone and looks ready to score.
6. Washington State does not score.
How is it possible to lose track of not only which player has the football, but which team is on offense?
Answer: Years of practice.
